We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for our referring physicians. During regular business hours (M-F, 8 to 5), even for emergencies, the best way to reach Dr. Schaeffer or Susan Noel is through the office at 859/275-KIDS(5437). When you hear the phone mail system start, press 3 to reach Crystal, the office manager. She will take your message and pass it along to Susan or Dr. Schaeffer immediately. Many of our referring doctors have Dr. Schaeffer's beeper number which can be used at any time, and we encourage you to call the office to obtain this number. Unfortunately, the beeper sometimes fails to work during the day if Dr. Schaeffer is in the operating room where lead walls block the beeper signals. The safe route is to call the office, even after hours where you can leave a voice message.

Emergency Contact After Hours: Call the office and listen carefully to the phone mail system to have Dr. Schaeffer paged. By selecting option 5, you will enter the Physician's Emergency Mailbox. Simply leave a message stating your name, the patient's name, the reason you are calling, and a contact phone number. Please speak clearly and repeat the phone number at the very end of the message.
